Is it possible to send a child to school at the age of six, or is it better to wait until seven? How can I check my readiness for school and compound sentence examples? What advice do psychologists give?

Your baby is already big. Knows how to read, count and even write. So he is ready for school, even though he is not yet seven years old?

By law, children are admitted to first grade from the age of six. However, teachers themselves tend to take seven-year-olds, saying that at a young age, the child is not ready for school, both physically and psychologically. Is it really?

It makes sense to assess the baby’s needs for learning new things, his intellectual level. Normally, children want to know everything, ask many questions, have their own judgments about the world around them. Some even count the days until September 1, striving to get to school as soon as possible.

Check the child – for how long does his attention last? Does he only do your tasks 2 3 as a decimal or can he come up with something on his own? Does he always bring the work started to the end? Thus, it is not difficult to understand the level of educational motivation of a future first grader.

Seven or six? Psychologists say that just one year goes a long way in the development of children. A kid at six and seven years old are two completely different people, with different interests, preferences, skills and abilities.

For a six-year-old, emotions are still gaining the upper hand over reason. It is difficult for him to sit in one place for a long time, he is not always obedient, he can cry and be capricious. It is clear that school will seem like a nightmare to him: adults make him do incomprehensible and difficult tasks, dictate their will, and even have to sit motionless during lessons.

At seven years old, the child is already completely ready for school. He fulfills your instructions, understands that the rules must be followed, recognizes the authority of adults, knows how to achieve the set goal. And it goes to the end both in the game and in intellectual activity.

Psychologist’s advice.
– No need to strive to educate a child prodigy. It is better to focus on the development of imagination, fantasy, thinking, attention, memory, resourcefulness.

– Try to make sure that your child already has experience with peers before school. If he does not go to kindergarten, often play with other children on the playground, invite them to your place, visit development centers, circles and sections.

– Talk to your baby more often, and take it seriously, without ridiculous expressions and lisping. Read together, discuss the plot, come up with your own ending to famous fairy tales.

– Work on the regime. Already a month before September 1, teach your child to get up and go to bed an hour earlier than usual, have lunch, walk and practice at the same time.

We check the readiness for school.
It will not be superfluous to determine the biological age of the future first grader. This can be easily done using special tests.

Filipino test. Ask the baby to touch his left ear with his right hand, passing it over his head. At the age of five, children are not yet able to do this. The growth spurt does not take place until the age of six or seven.

Another option is the ability to step over a step, going up the stairs; jump on one leg.

Dental wisdom. If the child’s milk teeth have not yet begun to fall out, it means that his biological age lags behind the passport. Better to wait another year.

Track your baby. Perhaps he began to whisper something to himself, “to be secret.” This speaks of the development of inner speech.

Track how your toddler perceives school. Many first graders have too rosy ideas about her. A beautiful pencil case, a fashionable briefcase, an opportunity to find new friends? It is more important that the child understands what a lesson is, a change, who a teacher is and why he needs to be obeyed. You can attend preparatory courses, go on an excursion to school, talk with those children who have already become a student. Remember that learning about the school reduces your fear of it.

Check your child’s self-esteem. It is very important how he perceives himself. Children with high self-esteem will have a difficult time: they will receive comments and poor grades. A conflict with a teacher in such a situation is inevitable. And babies with low self-esteem are characterized by apathy, indifference, confidence that they will not succeed. Therefore, it is so important to form an adequate self-esteem in the child, then it will be much easier for him in a new team.
